FOOD This restaurant has had more changes of name than most, in fact it is so frequent it is hard to keep up with. An enviable city location with ample free parking and a lovely view across the river torrens looking towards the city the River Torrens Café is a pleasant walk along the river from the city and on a warm day or evening their deck is an excellent dining option. On hot days the dining room opens up like a beatiful summer pagoda the tranquillity of the dining experience embellished with the sound of rushing water.
We have always enjoyed the cooking of Sarah Contin and although we might have expected some change of direction in the food with the change of name there is very little difference. There are still pizzas and pastas and much of the food is reliable but relatively main stream. Daily specials and desserts are good, and in winter there Contin always brings some delicious casserole type dishes onto the menu.
Avoiding the main stream options and eating from their specials is the preferred option and generally provides a reliable dining experience.
